Descriptions:Human GDF-5 is expressed in long bones during embryonic development and postnatally in articular cartilage. Mutations in the Human GDF-5 gene have been implicated in Hunter-Thompson type dwarfism and in Grebe Syndrome, which is characterized by short stature, extra digits, and short and deformed extremities. The mature and functional form of Human GDF-5 is a homodimer of two 120 amino-acid polypeptide chain (monomers) linked by a single disulfide bond. Recombinant Human GDF-5 is a 27.0 kDa homodimeric disulfide-linked protein consisting of two 120 amino acid polypeptide chains.

Descriptions:Interleukin-15 (IL-15) is a 14-15 kDa glycoprotein with immune regulatory functions in many diverse cell types. IL-15 can be constitutively expressed in a variety of cell types stored as intracellular protein in the cytoplasm as well as transport to the cell surface, while only secreted from some cell types including monocytes, dendritic cells, epithelial cells, bone marrow stromal cells, and fibroblasts. As a pleiotropic cytokine, IL-15 mediates the crosstalk between innate immunity and adaptive immunity whose principal role is to kill virally infected cells. IL-15 plays a crucial role in the development, differentiation, and survival of NK cells. In monocytes, IL-15 induces the production of IL-8 and monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP-1), which recruits neutrophils and monocytes to sites of infection. IL-15 can also act as a chemo-attractant in T lymphocytes and regulate the differentiation of T lymphocytes.

Descriptions:Fms-related tyrosine kinase-3 ligand (Flt-3 Ligand) is a protein which is encoded by the FLT3LG gene in human. As an important regulator of hematopoiesis, Flt-3 ligand has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity that stimulate the proliferation of hematopoietic progenitor cells of both lymphoid and myeloid origin. Flt-3 ligand can synergistically increase the proliferation of immature progenitors with other cytokines such as GM-CSF, G-CSF, IL-3, EPO, IL-11, IL-12, IL-6 or TPO. Flt-3 ligand is expressed by a variety of hematopoietic progenitor cells including immature hematopoietic and

Descriptions:Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BMP-2) is an extracellular multifunctional signaling cytokine that is also a member of the TGF-β family. BMP-2 can bind with the TGF-β receptor to active SMAD protein signal transduction. Moreover, it engages in the path of signals such as Wnt and Notch. BMP-2 plays an essential role in the growth of hard bones and cartilage and involved in the differentiation of osteoblasts.

Descriptions:Interleukin-10 (IL-10), also known as cytokine synthesis inhibitory factor (CSIF), is an anti-inflammatory cytokine. Many different types of cells can produce IL-10, including immune cells and non-immune cells. IL-10 exerts inhibitory functions on DCs and macrophages, which is a potent inhibitor of antigen presentation and limit the production of the Th1-associated cytokines IL-2 and interferon-γ (IFN-γ). IL-10 is also a key immunoregulator during infection due to its inhibitory effect on inflammatory cytokine production. Consequently, the excessive Th1 and CD8+ T cell responses could be suppressed during infection.

Descriptions:Protein S100-A9, also known as S100 calcium binding protein A9, S100A9, and CAGB, is a member of the S-100 family. S100A9 is expressed by macrophages in acutely inflammed tissues and in chronic inflammation. It is also expressed in epithelial cells constitutively or induced during dermatoses. S100A9 is a calcium-binding protein. It has anti-microbial activity towards bacteria and fungi.
